Fresno Famous

Just scrolling through the Net (remember when it was called the 'Net?) to start the morning. Here's some interesting stuff:

• State of downtown: It's happening ... now? I should be there probably, seeing as I live/work/play downtown and am invested. I need to be kept abreast on all that's happening. Following along on Twitter probably works too.
• Conlan is writing a book. You can help that happen. Which you should, because if anyone I know needs to write a book, it's this guy.
• Fresno PD uses Facebook. This story is probably indicative of a much larger question RE: The role of social media in a person's ability to get a fair trial. So, we can talk about that if you want.
• Reg Presley, singer of the rock band The Troggs has died. The Troggs are famous for creating the garage-rock genre with the song "Wild Thing." Although according to the obit, they didn't write the song. Fun fact: Punk band X did a cover for the Major League movie.
