Fresno Famous

Fresno's The Soma Holidays are no longer with us. Don't worry, nobody died, they just broke up one day about seven years ago. Rock and roll. They were maybe Fresno's biggest indie rock band during their time, bringing a sound that Fresno had never really heard before.

Well lucky for Fresno, the dudes that played in the band are still around and are getting together Friday night at Audie's Olympic for a big reunion show. It shall be epic.

So we thought we'd put up some Soma for you now. You know, 'cause blogging wasn't really a big thing back when they were out so there isn't much Soma Holidays music around for folks to listen to. Actually, Fresno Famous was sorta getting big but not many folks were posting MP3s of local bands.

We've got three tracks for you. All off their "Two Recordings" album. The first one is called "A.M. Radio" and was made with the band's original lineup. Download or just click: amradio.mp3

Second track is called "Get Yor Licks In Quick" and was made with the second lineup: getyorlicksinquick.mp3

Third track, "Miss Carmichael" is actually a track that could only be found on the limited edition of the album and was one of the last things the band did: misscarmichael.mp3

All these songs will be played Friday (with the matching lineups) and there will be some CDs available. It's going to be a great time, see ya out there.
