Fresno Famous

In case you missed the brief in today's paper (right there on page C2), California State University, Fresno has another national championship to add to its roster ... this time in bowling.

The Fresno state men's team won the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships on Saturday, beating out the top-ranked team in the country, Webber International, 2-0 (that's bowling's equivalent of a clean sweep or something).

Bowling isn't a huge deal out here on the west coast (probably because we can go outside during the winter) and this may not be a baseball-style cinderella story (can't see someone writing a book about this) but it's a big deal should be celebrated.
