Q & A with artist Chris Fierro
Chris Fierro is this month's showcase artist at the Pacific Southwest Building. He will be showing in The Vault at this Thursday's ArtHop. We caught up with Chris to tell us a bit about what we can expect.Fresno Famous - Tell us how this show came about.
Chris Fierro - The space really inspired nearly everything about this show, which is the largest solo show I've done. I was thrilled at the idea of showing my artwork in a bank vault.
FF - There are tons of other art shows going on the same night, why should people take the time to stop by your show?
CF - This show will be more than just art!
FF - Besides visual art, what can people expect?
CF - I want this show to be an experience: there will be a DJ, a contest/giveaway via Instagram, and plenty of other surprises.
FF - Tell us how you started off creating art.
CF - I've been interested in art since I was a kid, but have been painting for the last 16 years and have been part of several shows.
FF - What inspired the name Safety In Numbers?CF - My girlfriend thought of the name, she was inspired by the vault and the numbers in my paintings.
Fierro's show starts at 5 p.m. this Thursday at the Vault inside the Pacific Southwest Building. The address is 1060 Fulton Mall in Fresno.
