FRESNO, CA—Ground-breaking track & field reality show, T.R.A.C.K. Live! (Top Resurrected Athletes Challenge-Ken) to air this fall on a cable network, is on its second week of filming here in the San Joaquin Valley, where world-class master athletes have been training since the first week of June in Reedley and Fresno, CA.
Track & field athletes, ranging from ages 32 to72 from all over the nation, will meet their first challenge Saturday, June 21st at sponsoring local health spa and gym, T-Sports, formerly known as Dan Gamel's racquet ball club.
Show creator and Ann Marie Production executive producer, Julia Ann Dudley, former Fresno High School head track & field coach for 10 years, teamed up with local businesses such as T-Sports and Dr. Robert Jones' Fresno Spine & Sports.
“We are so grateful that Dr. Jones has agreed to be the sports medicine expert on our show, and T-Sports has stepped in to host one of our youth community challenges this Friday,” explained Dudley, who is enthused about the role model and community involvement aspects of the show. In fact T-Sports will be hosting a free “anti-drugs and anti- steroid use in sports” presentation for the youth community, presented by T.R.A.C.K. Live! contestants.
“We want to make sure these contestants are more than just fast runners, far throwers or good jumpers,” said Dudley, “it's more about what they can do to uplift the image of track & field and get the youth involved again in this sport.”
With the constant scandal ravaging the sport and lack of fan connection or support, it's often hard to keep up with all of the gifted athletes in this sport, according to USATF Vice-President & former UNLV track & field coach Samuel Germany.
“We need to re-establish track & field for our children; they need to know about healthy competition and the fun of it—not the drive to be number one in every race,” said Germany. “It's all about healthy competition and individual improvement and achievement—being a role model who is also involved in giving back to the community.”
Other local Fresnans participating in the reality show include: form coach Tom Freeze, thrower coach Ryan Job, weight coach George Zuniga, contestant Irene Orozoco, contestant Felecia Brown, Blare Media production company, and former Fresnan Charlton Jordan.
