Five years ago, some local do-gooder types, with help from a get-it-done nonprofit, set out to start a Fresno music festival. It was born of the Rogue Festival/ArtHop model, with several venues hosting a bunch of local music at the same time. All you had to do was buy a tickets, show up and enjoy the show (or shows rather).

The fact the festival continues on (and continues to grow, at least in its spirit) is a testament to all the bands/venues and promoters putting together awesome shows every weekend (and sometimes during the workweek too).

In advance of this year's festival, which kicks off with a free preview party Thursday night at The Hashtag, I sat down with my blogger buddy The Fresnan for an annual night of podcasting we call Flowing with Famous, aka Flowing with Fresno Urban Sound Experience.

Listen in as we reminisce about years gone by.

Get excited as we preview this year's festival and pick our must-see sets.
