Best Chris' Meat Market Stories

I'd like to hear your Best Chris' Meat Market stories. Get into a fight? Talk to a hooker? Someone tried to steal your car? You take your life into your own hands when you go there at night.

This is my Chris' Meat Market story: It was about 10:00PM and we decided to drive from Tower to Chris' to get tacos. We ordered, paid and left. While we're driving away, we see a pimp slapping a hooker. He's pushing her up against the wall at the Buddhist Temple and beating the shit out of her. My friend who was driving and visiting from Vermont and I jumped out and confronted the pimp. He tried to stand up to me until he saw Drew coming around the other side. Drew was an active duty Marine at the time. So the pimp backs down and the girl gets into the back seat between me and my friend Sara. Then we notice blood running down her arm where the pimp had cut her. We scooted as far away from her as we could. She was holding it over so I could see and I told her "yeah, I see it, keep that blood off of me." Who knows what the hell kind of diseases she had. Anyway, she didn't want any police so we dropped her off around the corner at a liquor store on F street.

Does anybody else have a Chris' Meat Market Story?

So?

That still doesn't scare me away from Chris' meat market. I will come back despite the surrounding activities you just saw. It's everywhere in US. Not a perfect world we are living in but that's how it is.

My Impressions!

Went down there and the place look likes a dive .Old Buddist Temple covered in bird shit across the street. We got our food and parked our car on the side of the market and proceeded to eat our Food, which was tasty !We had a Guy try to sell us a Gram of coke and then wanted to sell us some Marjiuana. We declined . He went to the next car and those People were buying the stuff. We even seen them snorting the coke and drinking 40z Bottles of what looked to be Malt Liquor.I heard the words from there radio say " me perrico me guyo me chiva! Thats when we decided to leave .Good food but a shady place to be at night!

Chris meat market is the best!!!!

Where can you go after a night out at the club get great tacos and see a freeking crazy side show in chinatown shit I think they should charge admission. Some of the thing's you see there are funny and others are pathetic but all in all its just the loozers in chinatown at thier best. I do enjoy going there but its one of those places the you go at your own risk (ayor). but do believe the food is good just make sure you have a friend or two with you.

CUTE CAL TRANS GUY!

i admit, im easy to please. with that said,
my office regularly eats at Chris' (April's now) and we generally go at the same time, order our food and wait.
Theres always this one CalTrans worker there who is soo damn cute. I stare, he stares but no one makes a move. i certainly wont! as if!
week after week we see each other and stare, no one daring to make a move.
so one day there we are, he finally gets the nerve to say hello, when lo and behold a larger sized woman, as if on cue, comes barrelling thru the door, sees him talking to me and literally grabs him by the ear and drags him outta there. My friends and i almost peed our pants laughing. it was the funniest thing we'd ever seen. they didnt even wait for their lengua tacos!!!
now i know why he was so hesitant.....but why on earth take the one opportunity when he wasnt alone??!!
They must both like it like that, cave man style!

What you have to understand about my relationship with Chris' Meat Market is that I take EVERYONE there. I've taken my mom there. I've taken vegan dudes there ... on accident.

And actually, that was a good story. We were coming back late one night from a hip-hop event in Visalia. So it was at least midnight, probably closer to 1 a.m. when we got to Chris'. Why the vegan guy didn't warn me at the prospect of going to Chris Meat Market, I dunno. But that's not really the point of the story.

So we're there, a group of about six, me and another guy being the only people from Fresno, so the only people who had been to Chris' before. Of course, the place was packed, so we all sort of got separated making out orders. I was in and out, ready to the back of my car when my one of my friends rolls out some minutes later, all tripping out about what he just saw. I guess a guy was walking of the door around the time he was, and some other dude just ran up on the dude and punched him in the face, then took his food and ran off.

We're all laughing at this when we hear police sirens coming our way. Like I said, it was crowded, so we were actually parked along E Street, a little south of Kern. So the cops are chasing some car east on Kern Street and car getting chased pulls off right near us, in the parking lot where that church is. The guy gets out of the car and starts to power walk away. No joke, power walking. Arms flailing around, from his side to above his head. We all were kinda like WTF? Obviously, power walking didn't help him get away. So the cops and grabbed him and did the usual ...

But seriously, power walking away from the cops?!?

Only at Chris'

I got more. I'll keep em coming at a later date.

La Festa & Chinatown after Dark

I don't have a Chris story but I saw some La Festa action when Shawn had a Tea Room in Chinatown, some of it even got on video tape.

there were girl fights out on the street where they would pull out each others hair, there were a few knife fights, one guy got stabbed in the gut.

I remember the police coming with a paddy wagon to hall off some of the drunks off of F Street.

Yes Chinatown is an area that you really don't want to be alone, car or ride less after dark.

One late late night...

It was 2:00 AM and my brother and I were eating our tacos on the tailgate of my pickup across from Chris', in front of the Buddhist Temple. The bars on F Street had just let out and this guy comes up. About 50 or older. He was decked out in a cowboy hat, Tejano shirt and these cool vaquero style boots. He was drunk off his ass and just wasn't ready to go home. He wasn't asking for money. The bar had closed and he was still trying to find a party. He came over and starting talking with us.

The conversation turned to music and we started singing a song called "Tragos Amargos". It is a straight-up Mexican drinking song. A couple of other guys from the F street bars walked up and joined in. We had about 5 guys out there belting out this song. All drunk. We sang a few more songs and left. I love music!

This is the song:

I have a few good ones. I'll start with this

We were headed to Chris' late one Friday or Saturday night, back when the sideshow used to assemble over along Kern Street. We're headed down E and stop at Kern.

In the Kern/E intersection, there's a car spinning donuts. The passenger side door is open and the guy sitting there is holding this big ol' gun.

The tacos were still good.
