Still, though I think both the doobs and GoodTimes was two great tastes....
seeing ReRun break loose and start dancing to the Doobies at the foot of the stage clearly was NOT two great tastes that went good together... (still have nightmares...)

Extreme Drug Laws in Dubai

Dubai may have some fancy buildings to show off, and it maybe trying to be the best city in the world but there are many reports about the extreme strict drug law enforcing they have against people traveling there.

but every time I say the word 'dubai,'

I think: 'Doobage,' as in
'...you, ahab, you got my doobage?'

It's just such a goofy sounding name for such a wealthy area...
I think it's meant to throw ya off yer game... kind of a reverse psych. sort of thing...
It's like guys who are really powerful in business or education spheres, have the name Richard,
--and yet insist on being called 'Dick.'

I mean...
dubai just sounds like a nonesense word, -or like somebody talking in fake tongues on a religious broadcasting network or something.

it's a big maybe

perhaps fresno will improve in this way...especially if we find a huge oil deposit under some part of town. and we can hire a ton of low wage immigrants to live in slums and build for next to nothing. i know that dubai is now building better housing for their laborers, but they're still mainly living in work camps hours away from their jobs. and getting paid what amounts to a few dollars a month.

oh yeah, and if we wipe away most, if not all, corporate taxes. perhaps then haliburton and other multinationals will relocate here bringing the big capital needed for grandiose buildings.

if all this happens, we can build islands in the lake @ roeding park with mansions on them. or at least finish the horse golf course.
