soup, there it is

wow, i knew that cafe corazon made great coffee, but they have some cooking skills, too. today, i thought i'd go down there, do some work, drink some coffee, and check out their lunch menu. i saw they had a tortilla soup, chicken tortilla to be exact, and knew what i was having.

delicious. very flavorful, really loved the bit of cilantro in it, good amounts of chicken, vegetables, tortilla slices and even potatoes. it combo'd up nicely w/a half sandwich, roast beef w/provolone on wheat.

and leo, the blend of beans i took home the other day is great. it smells so good when you just grind it, i almost don't want to do anything more with it. but then how would i get to enjoy the beautiful coffee it brews up? very nice stuff.

a thought for a future event there: a coffee tasting night. not sure how exactly it would work, but i envision you telling people about 5 or 6 different roast as they sample them.

They really have some talent... I've tried and Irish coffee with an house speciality cookie. It was magnificent!

more props to cafe corazon

Good drinks, plus an inviting, unique and comfortable atmosphere.

I attended a meeting that wisely chose this place to sit, sip good coffees and teas and get some business done.
Thanks Mr. Diablo for making a great place for folks downtown.
---and you even remembered me and my daughter biking in around Christmastime---but I didn't see you that day; you must've been
in the middle of one of your famous roasting sessions or something.

soupy sales

yeah, i came in thinking about lunch, like a sandwich or what not, but when i saw the tortilla strips sitting there i knew what i was bound to be eating. lucky day for me!

Thanks Ed,,,,,,and........DUDE!!!

We're very glad you liked it. My girl grew up making everything from scratch, her menudo is unparalleled. We don't make that out of respect to other places in the mall.

......DUDE!

There has been a lot in the works for a coffee class/seminar/tasting. There are details to work out, but things are coming along. We've been appoached a few times now about this. I was going to do a 'help Café Corazón pick the next beans' thing, but I don't think that would work so well. Right now the idea is;

Learn different brew methods
Learn about roast levels
Learn about growing and origins of coffee
Leave knowing more than before, and with coffee in hand.

Part of learning about it all would be being able to taste the difference. So I kinda want small groups, 5-10...

Details to come...

More on the coffee you have. The Sidamo that is in it is about to run out. Not just that, but that was one of those change it up things I do that turned out incredible. So imagine me knowing this, roasting it up the first time, up till 3am, and when all is said and done I got to enjoy like 2 cappuccinos from it. :) Kind of a bitter sweet success, great coffee and hardly get to enjoy it myself ;) I know exactly what you mean when you say you don't want to go past grinding it...cept I want to be greedy n keep it for myself;)
