Bring back the Raisin Bowl

Not too long ago, Bulldog Stadium hosted the California Raisin Bowl. It was sponsored by the California Raisin Advisory Board. I think the entity is now defunct, but I would like to think that such a bowl could do for Sun-Maid what the Emerald Bowl has done for Emerald Nuts. It would be a perfect opportunity to showcase both the "new" and "old" California and bring some positive news to the area. With ESPN showing every bowl not broadcast by the major networks, the game would be virtually guaranteed to break even. I think it would go a long way to bolstering our image as well as giving us something to enjoy!

Some Thoughts

I remember the games as being well played with the MAC having some great teams like Bowling Green and Toledo. That said, if the Bulldogs were not in the game , the attendance was poor. Also, the weather can get cold/foggy in December in Fresno so it was always a bit dicey that way.
Still, it was fun going to the games.
