Howdy Fresno Famousers,

Ok..a pretty busy weekend ahead of our band(The Patrick Contreras Band). I kick off my weekend with a jazz gig thats non-important.hehe. Saturday we play the "Best of Fresno Music Festival" our time is at 7PM ..so if your trying to see us..be there by then. Now, I know there has been some controversy about who was left out of Best of Fresno.
Here are some Band I felt should be in there.
1. Eva Scow should've been there. She packed Tower Theater..and basically coming from a musicians perspective, she's the sh*t.
2 Fashawn has some great tunes, but draw-wise? not sure yet. This woulda been a great oppurtunity to showcase some good local hip-hop
3. Mofo Party Band just had a conflict they couldn't get out of
4. Rademacher..well they were contacted but never responded.

Which I guess brings me to my issue with the "indie" scene here in Fresno....and not all of course..The Few good experiences..were very good. But I get the feeling as if our indie bands want nothing to do with any other sort of genre here in Fresno. Its really irritating, but the only time I get the "I'm holier than thou" treatment from a group is when I try to reach out to a so called "indie" band in our area. I don't know what the problem is, but ..eventually.. pull your head out of our #$(* and lets work together because I do like our indie scene here and would like for more people to be exposed to it.

Ok, so like five minutes after that we are heading down to headline The Cellar Door in Visalia...hehe, ok not five minutes but..we had to play earlier at the Best of Fresno festival to get down to Visalia in time. Doors open at 9pm at The Cellar Door, I'll be having DB and The Struggle open the show..DB hit me up some time ago and I've grown pretty fond of this Fresno group..should be good. Our band should kick off at around 10:30 to 11:00..we've had two GREAT shows in Visalia this year..our first cellar door show in march, and last month at the Visalia Fox..so, I'm expecting another sell out at The Cellar Door...and just come out to Visalia in general..I love the downtown and What Aaron Gomes has done with the TCD is amazing.

Last..but not least..this is a ways away...buuutt..we've been working the system in LA a couple months now...and we scored a HEADLINING night at the Troubadour Friday Aug. 8..I've been trying to get some locals to open for me..but, the club is not having it. This place is in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd. and is a really top notch venue ..I think The Mars Volta did a show there ..i wanna say a month ago..we will be putting a bus together for The Troubadour which I will pester all you about later...

Aug. 12 - The Roxy - 10:45
Oct - Residency at The Mint - 1st two Saturdays and 2nd two Sundays
Nov - 1st Saturday at King King
