The Fresno Bee reports today that a French company has signed a letter of intent to help plan and build a nuclear power facility in the Valley.
That's not to say it will ever happen, but they've formed an LLC and they keep bringing it up.
Now, I know people say nuclear energy is safe and all that. France gets some crazy big percentage of their power from such facilities and there have been like, no accidents. Or whatever.
The French also have universal health care.
Actually, you bring me universal health care and I might support a nuclear plant in Fresno.

Chernobyl is decommissioned yet people still work there and will for many years to maintain and monitor the other three reactors there. No just because of the disaster that happened there in 1986 but because every decommissioned nuclear power station anywhere has to be maintained for many years (100) even after the plant is shut down.

how is a reactor shut down well it's entombed ("cocooned") in a pile of Concrete . Lead . and buried in the earth where it was built at.
If this was built here and some idiot fucked up then Fresno would be a ghost town and 500,000 people would have to move.
If they (The Rich) want a Nuclear plant so much put it in a place where there is little population for 100 Miles from it.
