Fresno Grizzlies Part 2

Thanks to Fresno Famous I went to the Grizzlies game on July 5th. Being the day after 4th of July they were shooting off fireworks after this game as well as the actual holiday. There was a good sized crowd and everybody was in a good mood. The weather was perfect for a summer evening: warm without too overbearing (not 112 like it is as I am writing this). I noticed some of the crowd came later with fireworks the main draw for them, I assume. They do put on an excellent fireworks display. Top notch.
The game was entertaining with two two-run homers my the Grizzlies to provide their own fireworks display. Both starting pitchers (Matt Palmer) for the Grizzlies who is one of the leaders in strikeouts for the Pacific Coast Leader pitched fast and effectively. The nine inning game was over by 9:30.
The crowd seemed to enjoy the both the game and the fireworks. My family had another pleasant experience at "The Chuck" thanks to Fresno Famous. Thanks again Famous Whitewater!

Good game.

I was there, courtesy of Famous, as well :-)

I had a lot of fun and my son LOVED IT! Was able to bring a couple of friends too!

Great game, great fireworks display. I wish it were always at least half as packed as it is on the 4th & 5th.

I'm not a big baseball fan, but I'd probably go more often if more people were into it. As to the excitement (for a non-sports fan like myself).

Still, we had a great time! Thanks again, you cool website, you. :-p

LOL cant blow "garlic" again until July 18th

The good thing about garlic fries is they are oily.
Flick some on the chair of a drunk that babbles all night and they will leave a nice greasy spot on his pants when he sits down.
Then when he stands up everyone get a good laugh.
Doug keep your natsy foul buffalo fries away from me.
I want to know why the food servers and cashiers there look like Margret Mimms just released them from the third floor?
Red t-shirts, red underwear, red sock, and pants to the knees.
Red Fuit of the Looms are so manly.
Is the team mascot a bear or an SPCA reject?
Latly it feels and looks like your getting food in a prison chow line.
All those Fresno tattoos represent Fresno Grizzlies and hometown pride right?
Should we really be seeing a female food servers lacey stars?
Look the full moon and stars are out.
Also whats up with the dyed hair.
That one guy looks like Lucy Ricardo reanimated.
I thought baseball is a family event not a sideshow of freaks, parkway rejects, and gang bangers.
Last night thirsty thursday the Raider Nation idiots were out in mass again getting drunk.
Also why do employees walk around the food stand eating all night?
Who runs the food sevice/circus?
They obviously are not very professional .
Enough said its hot.
Think I'll shower and hit subway and the Buck's on Kern around two pm.

Sorry About That

I am sorry my stories bored your whole section ;)
I watched the video of the play where the manager got thrown out on the news later that night and I think he was safe unless the tag missed the base runner. The throw was on time, the swipe was on time so that has to be it. I am not sure why the manager got as mad as he did but it was entertaining.
I think soccer doesn't have the natural breaks in a game that baseball does so it is harder to find an unobtrusive time to interrupt.
Parker the Grizzlies mascot has grown on me over the past two years. I didn't like him at first but now I look forward to seeing what he is doing.

oooh, me, too

i was at that game as well, although not courtesy of famous. enjoyed the game, except for this loud talking dude near me, that felt like our whole section needed to share in his asinine stories from life.

during the game i even found myself thinking, 'they do a good job w/all their in game entertainment.' this is something i dislike, but the grizz staff seem to have it so it does little to interfere with the timing of the game or really distracting from the action. now if they can just figure that out for fuego games.

i was a bit disappointed that the grizzlies' manager got himself tossed in the 2nd inning. it wasn't that big of a call, he didn't need to go make such a stink about it.
