It makes sense to go green, we have
1. Solar: its 91 degrees right now, need I say more?
2. Bio-fuel: specially grown crops to convert into bio-diesel
3. Bio-waste: every day, thousands of lawns, gardens, trees & landscapes get mowed, trimmed & up-rooted, the City should have several processing centers around town to drop of all that green waste. the County should have the same for all the outlying towns, for all the farms & orchards, remember “Burn Days”? And dairies, can’t anyone design a way to use all that manure, liquid waste & methane?
PG&E has started, but it should be Valley-wide
4. Incentives: both monetary & non-. we have subsidies, cost savings for one & less asthma & get to see the mountains for the other.
5. Water: a scarce resource that must be converted, recycled, re-used, recycled, re-used, etc…
6. innovation: we have W.E.T., CVBI, Fresno State, CART, plus multitudes of bright, driven people
7. limited resources: as long as OPEC & BIG OIL have us addicted, they can raise the prices at will, now that they trained us these past 2 years, leading us by our nose-rings, slaves to our cars & by extension, them.
