Hansen "Watercolor Heirlooms" Reception

Fresno artist Doug Hansen will exhibit 24 of his watercolor paintings at Fresno City Hall. Most of the paintings are illustrations from the book "Heirlooms: Letters from a Peach Farmer" by well-known author Mas Masumoto. Doug has collaborated with Mas since 2002 and illustrated Masumoto’s monthly column for The Fresno Bee for seven years. The partnership with Masumoto has produced two books illustrated by Doug. The first was Letters to the Valley, published by Heyday Books in 2004. The public is invited to the reception to meet the artist. Paintings and books will be available for purchase. Doug will also be selling and signing copies of his latest book, Mother Goose in California, a children’s ABC book.

Doug Hansen has been a Fresno-based artist and illustrator for over thirty years. He is known locally for his illustration work at The Fresno Bee, and for his series of pen and ink drawings of Valley landmarks called Fresno Sketchbook. Hansen is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design in the Department of Art and Design at Fresno State. He teaches illustration.
