The only reason a gang like the bulldogs thrives is due solely to their location. For instance, if these "big bad bulldogs" existed in LA or the streets of orange county ( Santa Ana, etc.) they would not be half as violent or rowdy, nor would they have grown so large in number. Because the city of Fresno is relatively small and secluded, this gang has had the ability to become an overwhelming force in the city. So maybe these bulldogs aren't so big or so bad?

If people want to be losers and commit crimes, they should be dealt with accordingly. I don't think that we need MORE laws that could possibly punish the rest of us. I am covered in tattoos. Removing the gangs of Fresno
Well first of all charging for tattoos is just plain dumb. This is a college town and we have players that sport the Bulldog mascot. I believe to begin with we need to teach them at the schools at an early age about avoiding gangs. many of these gang members are low income and with so many kids having kids they teach their offspring their bad habits. So lets get a special required class that educates on gangs in the classrooms.
Secondly lets have more TV advertisements announcing a no tolerance policy against gang members. The announcement could say that if you are caught in any gang like activity or commit a crime your penalties are doubled. we don't need our kids killed with stray bullets and the such. Any guns found on you will result in stiffer penalties.
The next thing could be to create a different logo for Fresno State. Something that gangs would avoid like oh the Fresno
Fever or the Fresno State Wolves. Just something deterrent.
When gang members are arrested it should be put in a special part of the Fresno Bee. A daily page called "Gang members arrested" and show their faces. Somthing like Americas Most Wanted. We will have Fresnos Felons arrested.
If gang members are within 200 ft of a school its a 500.00 fine or 50 hours removing graffiti.
I believe as a community we need to work together to educate the young regardless of income. That lil kid you see at the bus stop with his ghetto mother may grow up and stab, shot, rob you or someone you love so its all our problem.
I know kids get into gangs because they are poor and have no vision of a life outside of Fresno so more community activities in high crime areas that bring in great role models.
Fresno could also make bumper stickers saying Fresno is working to be Gangmember free and huge city signs showing we are working to clean this city.

Kick 'em off the continent
This is obviously a facsist idea and would never happen but since Chief Dyer has given the gangs an ultimatum to clean up or get outta town, the Fresno PD should take it one step further. Many gangbangers have been kicked outta town already with this new full court press/sweep of gangs. The problem is that these stupid gang members have fled to nearby towns which conversely, saw a spike in gang activity. These small towns do not have the sizable resources like FPD to conduct these gang sweeps.
This idea is extreme and only wishful thinking but if the gangbangers don't get their act together, they obviously get kicked out of town but put on some of those buses that transport inmates. Ship 'em off to the coast, drop 'em off at the beach and tell them their gangbanging days are over and put 'em in some cheap boats that are readily available. If they refuse that's ok 'cause there are armed guards and sharpshooters right behind them in case they make a run for it. If they still don't wanna get it then tell them they can swim off the continent and take their chances with the sharks. Why kick 'em off the continent, you ask? Do you really think L.A. wants to deal with these pinheads? Those folks down south have ENOUGH of a gangland problem already!
Fresno PD will notify in advance the police in Hawaii if these gang boats drift towards their shores. Their police force can do what they want. Put 'em in jail or tell them to keep sailing. Let 'em find some remote deserted island where they can try and get a clue. That would be interesting. It would be a far more violent and intense version of "Lost".
My theory? If they can't get their act together and completely renounce their gang membership and association then they serve no purpose to society.

From what I understand;
Fresno Police are doing a good job cataloging gang members. Very good job.
Gang members are not allowed to be within a certain distance of each other, or they go to jail.
Gang members are not allowed to be under the influence of any drugs, or they go to jail.
Gang members cannot display or wear any gang affiliated clothing, or they go to jail.
Those things are not negotiable and are enforced well.
I believe things are being taken care of. The rest is perception, as in the case of what I wrote about before, and not a reality.
This city is full of Bulldog Alumni, and not all of them are ok with sitting on the sidelines having to hold back who they are because of how they may be viewed. Stand up and be proud of being a Fresno State Bulldog.
