The INNER EAR Open Mic Poetry Jam

December 18 08 EAR flier w Scurvy in name and Hump Band copy.jpg

As the U.S. gets ready to welcome sweeping change in our nation’s capital, we too at INNER EAR will once again experience our own change, as we said good-bye to leaving co-host ?ue (pronounced Que) last month and welcome New Co-host “Scurvy” this month to the INNER EAR poetry family. If the name Scurvy sounds familiar, this talented performer comes to us by way of our defunct sister show the BEAT DOWN SLAM. He is known outside the poetry scene as a local performance artist working with fire as well as acting in local stage productions and is a favorite regular of the Ear. DJ Smack Jilly and I Welcome this versatile artist to the valley’s longest open mic show.

In the Special Guest spot this month we have New York Spoken word / Slam Poet Jon Sands lightin’ up the stage in his first visit to da NO for this special year end show. Be there to see this one of a kind talent in his first Valley visit. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS! You can see some of Jon’s work on our INNER EAR Myspace page.

…And rounding out the night, playing live music, the EAR’s house band during the 5 yr Anniversary, THE HUMP BAND makes its triumphant return to the big show!
