Does anyone know of a stretch of river within an hour or so of Fresno that's good for inner tubing? Not necessarily on heavy rapids, maybe more for just lazily floating down-river for a while on an inner tube. Beer consumption ability is a plus (saving the empties, of course). Any info GREATLY appreciated.
most people get on the river
most people get on the river at the goodfellow bridge, and like guest said, you get off at reedley beach, not kelly's. you may be able to get done in 4-5 hours, but depending on your level of partying, theres like a ton of little islands along the way that people usually stop at. I've had floats take as long as like 10-12 hours. also DO NOT leave your car at the starting point. you must get dropped off by someone, because it is 100% guaranteed that your car will get broken into if you leave it out on goodfellow. everyone knows that any vehicle parked there will be unattended for like at least the next 5 hours, and its in the middle of nowhere. but its a great float, especially on the 4th of july, that river will be packed with tubers the whole way down, its way fun.
Kings River-- between
Kings River-- between Reedley & Sanger off of Central Ave. Take 99 S Exit Central. Travel through the country for about 10 miles. Right next to Hobb's Grove (popular halloween destination). You will then come to the Kings River. Float is about 4-5 hours depending on current. VERY DANGEROUS at times, so watch that alcohol consumption. Exit river at park in Reedley (not Kelly's Beach-- they don't like that).
There might be stretches on
There might be stretches on the San Joaquin that you can just float down. I'm not really sure.
