So what exactly happened? I was waiting in line for over an hour (with a couple hundred other people) when we were told to leave because the cops shut it down. Anyone got the story on what happened inside?

Sorry, I didn't try to single you out. You were just the only DJ that stuck out to me at the time when the first poster said that "he was overwhelmed".

me overwhelmed? you have got to be kidding.
LOL.
the Met on the otherhand....yes, they were overwhelmed.
and no, nothing got out of control. there was one fight and it was barely even i fight. I saw it go down and i stopped it just by looking all stern. LOL.
everyone wants it to be some kind of big deal that the party ended early. chill. the event rocked.

They are very purdy. Might as well keep them. They won't be of much use after the end of next year when the African Union starts printing out currency.
it was a really good time in the worst location possible.
the extremely well considered environment inside the museum lent itself to the tone that the event ended up achieving-- it just seemed really unfortunate that there were priceless exhibit pieces surrounded by drunk people that really don't care about that shit.
i assume if the objective of the event was to get the Met filled to capacity with drinks being served, then mission accomplished. it really seems ill conceived, however, to think it would not attract the subset who were really apathetic to their surroundings and the intended use of the venue.
it'd be cool if there were a more idiot proof venue in fresno with an environment approaching the stellar job they've done with the new Met, because from what i hear they're understandably never going to do that again.
...it was fun though. hah.

Kids and people just started getting out of control along with some scattered fights. A lot of idiots there. I went around 12:15 and came home at 1:30 just way too many people.
I think he was just way overwhelmed by the amount of people that showed up.
oops

and to add to that...
It should have been 21 and over.
And yes, while I was waiting in line, there were many around me that didn't even know what was in the museum. I tried not to wince too loudly.
And the currency rate of the rwandan franc for 1 U.S. Dollar: 551.70 :)
ALSO...
i bet 500 rwandan francs that if it were $15 at the door, you would have effectively eliminated those with a propensity to smoke blunts.
AND made so much money.
