Arte Américas and the California Opera Association invite you to a “Night of Opera Español” this Friday, July 18th at 7 PM at the Fresno Art Museum. This event is the first ‘Meet & Greet’ concert event of the annual California Opera Arts & Education Festival, raising funds for both local youth programs and in support of aspiring artist from Mexico to Fresno. In continuing the Arte Américas mission to make the Central Valley a flourishing place for Latino arts and to collaborate in bringing our communities a new awareness of the wealth of Latino arts and culture, the evening will present festival artists in opera art and folk songs such as Joaquin Rodrigo's “Quatro Madrigales Amatorios,” Pablo Esteve’s “Tirana del cangrejo,” Katiuska P.Sorozábal’s "Noche Hermosa," Fernando J. Obradors’ "Del cabello más sutil," “Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella” with Adali Rodriguez guitar, and features excerpts of Bizet’s Carmen, and the Brisa Espanola dance troupe, concluding with Maurice Ravel’s set of three songs for voice and piano, “Don Quichotte à Dulcinée” and the famed Pablo Sorozabal's “No puede ser."
