Pete's Teriyaki House
Pete's is so good, you won't care if it's dog!
Okay, so there was a rumor that they got busted about 10 years ago for serving dog, but hell, if what I ate yesterday WAS dog then I don't care! It's that good.
They use really good cuts of meat which you don't find in most teriyaki places. I think that's what makes their chicken bowls so good. That and their sauces.
You can ask for spicy teriyaki sauce and wasabi or just stick with the regular teriyaki sauce or hot sauce on the tables. I like to have some of each with mine because they all create a wonderful new flavor in my mouth -- each one better than the next.
My personal recommendation is the No. 1 Chicken Teriyaki Bowl w/ all white meat (spend the extra two bits for it, seriously) and no skin. Toss some tempura veggies into that bad boy and it's on like Donkey Kong. Their crispy fried chicken plate is pretty good, too.

LOVE LOVE LOVE their special chicken and the grilled teriyaki chicken as well! Sure the ambiance isn't quite there, but the food is worth the trip. And their prices are great for the amount of food they pile on. Easily two to three meals can be made out of one plate. Their sauce is one of the best I've ever tasted in Fresno, and they make it fresh from scratch every day (according to them). The spicy sauce is addictive! Why bother cooking when you can make a trip to Pete's?!
My personal fav is the pork bowl with spicy sauce! I had always ordered the chicken stuff but lately discovered their grilled pork is to die for!!
If you live in Fresno, you've gotta try this place out. It's fast, cheap, and good.
