The pro-Prop 8 homophobes are correct! I'm ready to be a straight guy!

Now that the anti-gay marriage Proposition 8 has passed, I'd like to take a moment and admit that the homophobes are absolutely right about gay marriage being wrong/a sin/sick/an indictment of heterosexual marriage/etc.

After 20 years of hard-core, man-on-man action, doing every possible, imaginable thing with my own gender (and God knows the homophobes have imagined it), I am now ready to change my lifestyle to become a heterosexual man and marry a nice, young woman, so that I, too, may finally know the benefits and obligations of legal marriage and, yes, love.

Would the supporters of Proposition 8 be so kind as to send me the phone numbers and/or email addresses of their daughters, sisters and nieces? I'm quite sure they'd be the kind of good, clean, morally pure ladies I'd want to date or marry.

Hopefully, they won't think too much about where my mouth has been!

How would I know?

easy, I lived to a ripe old age, I feel I'm a keen observer of the human condition, seen many things, known many people, done many things; heard many truths & lies (feel that I can tell the diff), known people from many cultures, dated Hispanics, whites, Asians & blacks

I also know, that if this discussion was between kids still in high school, the underlying question implied, of "How would you know?" is, am I gay?; along the lines of, "it takes one to know one". but I'm sure that you outgrew that stage of your life, you're not 15 anymore are you?

I have at least 2 gay relatives (a cousin & my little Sister), I come from a large extended family, saw human & family dynamics from a very early age

How would you know?

"the gay lifestyle is a short-cut to sexual gratification, more sex, less bruised egos & all, more rationalization"

Hmmm...

Mykel: that was your problem all along

Mykel says, "Would the supporters of Proposition 8 be so kind as to send me the phone numbers and/or email addresses of their daughters, sisters and nieces? I'm quite sure they'd be the kind of good, clean, morally pure ladies I'd want to date or marry."

I say, "that was your problem all along", if you want to be straight, then learn the ritual dance, why should any one sacrifice their children for someone that wants to get a "short-cut" to the dating/mating game?

the gay lifestyle is a short-cut to sexual gratification, more sex, less bruised egos & all, more rationalization

btw, you should already have lots of girlfriends, if you really want to go straight, ask one of them

good luck on your new adventure, all the best

To all the questions, yes,

To all the questions, yes, they learn it. One tries vanilla and enjoys it, it may change from flavor to flavor but overall those are learned traits.a man is born a man and a woman a woman, people born with certain skin tones and features can all be traced scientifically back to dna, cells, chromosones, etc, (before, I go any further, let me say that i am on your side, on the gay side that is, i voted no on prop 8,) i don't know if homosexualality can? I mean no harm in saying the above and deeply apoligize if i stirred unwanted feelings, i think if like gender can be proven, scientifically and no one then disputes whether a woman is a woman, then maybe if a gene or extra chromosone could prove gay, then it would be treated differently and not looked at as a choice. because sometimes one questions the idea and that is where the biggest problem lies. -jade

Who cares if gays were born gay or just learn to be?

"This is just mearly out of curiosity, given, that yesterday after an intense conversation with a friend regarding prop 8 and same sex marriage led to this comment, Do you think that if it could be proven that homosexuals were born that way that prop 8 would not have passed." - Famous Guest

Who cares if gays were born gay or just learn to be?

Are you born liking vanilla ice cream, or do you learn to do so?

Are some blond women born liking black men, or do they learn it?

Are some people born being religious, or do they learn to be?

Are some people born being homophobic, or do they learn to be?

I say, study those who want to study homosexuals!

This is a great idea--and very funny, too!

Wanna Send A Message To The Meddling Mormon's???

"For every donation of $5 or more.... the following postcard to President Thomas Monson’s office in Salt Lake City, acknowledging your donation in his name.
"

http://www.invalidateprop8.org

Dear President Monson:

A donation has been made in your name by _________________ to “invalidateprop8. org” to overturn California's Proposition 8 and restore fundamental civil rights to all citizens of California. The money will be donated to legal organizations fighting the case and to support grass-roots activities in support of full marriage equality. Although we decry the reprehensible role the Church of Latter Day Saints leadership played in denying all Californians equal rights under the law, we are pleased a donation has been made on your behalf in the effort to overturn the discrimination your church members helped enshrine in the California Constitution. Given that throughout its history the Mormon Church has been subjected to bigotry, we hope you appreciate the donation in your name to fight religious bigotry here in California.

ok

"me being a straight man, you could not get me to look at a man and desire him"

The same way you feel about men is the way I feel about women. You have no control over it, and neither do I.

And those who go both ways are either bi-sexual, slutty, or are trying to play it off for various reasons (probably for family or religion).

This is just mearly out of

This is just mearly out of curiosity, given, that yesterday after an intense conversation with a friend regarding prop 8 and same sex marriage led to this comment, Do you think that if it could be proven that homosexuals were born that way that prop 8 would not have passed. So do You? I mean, i know people say they are born that way and thier but why then are some able to go back and forth in attraction to men and women, me being a straight man, you could not get me to look at a man and desire him, yet, i know friends of mine that are gay and they will go back and forth, date a woman then a man for a while, all the while stating they are still gay. last year my girlfriend and i went to a wedding of a former lesbian, she was marrying a man. So are they born that way. I opposed prop 8, voted no on prop8, in hopes for a better outcome next time, i would plead for the gay community to prove it, prove through scientific fact, and gentiics, dna, whatever the hell that one is born this way, because only then, will people have to see this as not a choice but a way of life, because "I was born like this, i God made me gay" statment that gays are making, don"t seem plausible, i can"t change my skincolor from white to brown, i was born this way and i can prove it, so maybe its time that the gay community proved thier sexuality also,my best to you all fighting for your rights,

Fear mongering is all they

Fear mongering is all they have. Hey it worked for Bush right?

It's heartbreaking to see

It's heartbreaking to see such a proposition pass, but fear-mongering, for any perspective, won't lead us toward equality.
