REAR YES NO...(Fresno's Underground Graffiti Movie)

Many graffiti artist from all parts of Fresno have discuss the issue about the infamous REAR YES NO,which is Fresno's graffiti movie basically its video clips from 2002 all the way to 2008 there is a lot in the video its 4 hours long and there interviews with graffiti artists from Fresno. Theres graffiti artists from all parts of Fresno NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST ranging from "toys" to the best...more than 80 graffiti crews. There are other videos that are being made...theres one by Riots called i paint...and there Is the 37 cents video...one of which made it to production...I'm posting this because i want to see if its a good idea to release it to the public...THE DVD IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION...THE VIDEO IS SIMILAR TO: STATE YOUR NAME from New York...the graffiti artists faces has been BLURRED OUT DURING INTERVIEWS.So theres no worry of anyone getting "BURNED".

***It's not like Fresno Uncensored there not *repping* their hoods or blocks or crews...there not fighting or other BS***

great idea

sounds like a really good idea to put out a video like this of fresno graffers getting down. only thing is everyones face should get covered so no one will get burned or caught up. other than that sounds like a great plan.

no public

might be too late since this post was already started and the vid or concept of it has been released to the general public. I'll go with MWB's advise - since your probably already being watched. MWB might be a good contact - shoot, i might hit em up myself.

I say no, at least not to the Fresno public. i would probably go with a larger city first.
Fresno isn't ready for this - i host graffiti & urban art events country wide and my experience in the Fresno area has not been pleasant.

Not sure why the local mainstream is even being considered - perhaps for sales. Thing is, now a days you can deliver successful outcomes with strong urban marketing and underground driven media all through the magic of the net.
I know plenty of underground media sources that do not rely on mainstream media to get by, and they are thriving in the market. If you play the cards right, eventually you will build resources, you will have the mainstream coming after you, and if a major source is involved - the Fresno locals will be dying to support you.

Good luck.
I'll find you on the side lines and maybe we can collab' on something.

Really Bad Idea to Release (See, Fresno Uncensored)

Now, Fresno Uncensored did not have the faces blurred out and those identified were prosecuted. However, the people who put out the production were sued in civil court for injunction and monetary damages.

If this work is put out by a producer, the owners of the buildings and/or property are likely to sue the producers to recoup loss from the damage to the property. They also probably filed insurance claims and police reports to verfiy the timing of the damage, and the anti-grafitti abatement force with FPD took the photo's and can ID the crew by the tags.

I have represented criminal defendants in Fresno for 10 years now. I have handled many tagging cases. If you want to aviod getting a slew of new prosecutions for past acts, do not release this video

i say a cautious yes

i'd be interested, but i'd also be cautious about putting it out. we can all remember how well nitty (sp?) was received with fresno uncensored. remember, graf is generally illegal. it may not be as controversial as a guy selling dope, beating someone up, or showing off a huge gun, but it could have legal implications.

but again, i'd be interested in seeing this sort of movie, and i suspect others would as well.
