let's do a little word association for our fresno based and fresno familiar readers. what's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word, "riverpark?"

is epitomized by that stupid, godawful, dangerous circle.
is teeming with teenagers who have nothing else to do.
doesn't have enough parking or an easy way to walk from section to section.
is Fresno - fast food, chain stores, & people who don't know how to drive.

One word:
necessity.
There arent any fabric stores or craft stores in the Tower area. So you have to go to where you can get it.
always a place to park, because its ok to walk.
we park in one spot and walk. Its a great thing to try, lazies.

Riverpark- Kid haters
Parking nightmares... What is with the circles? Does Fresno not have a bunch of crappy drivers already? We have to create an obstacle course for all those giant SUV's to meander through? Why are there so many stores aimed at kids when security's focus is on running them out of there? Its great to have place for foot traffic. This town doesn't have enough of that. It would be nice for some live music in the grassy area near the theater. Just in case anyone forgets, it's hotter than hell here in the summer. Who wants to sit outside from July through September? Since opening REI and Ruth's Chris, that area is a nightmare to pull into or get out of. I shop at REI frequently. If your going to have a place with valet parking shouldn't it be placed in an area that doesn't have through traffic? But like the rest of Fresno, it doesn't come together in a centralized location. It's breaks apart so that your back to driving all over the place.

Who cares if its north or south of Shaw or above or below Belmont? Fresno is Fresno and if its going to be Fresno Famous is should encompass it all right?
Riverpark: Over priced food, and Barnes and Noble.

when I hear river park I think Fresnofamous... because once it was about 'life below Belmont' and now it's everything north of shaw.
