KFSR switched to jazz in the day after I left FSU. But I found out about it in High school when they were playing Milencolin during the day, on FM Radio!!!! Not a big deal i guess but at the time I was stoked to just hear the music I listened to and music I couldn't find on commercial radio. Now 27 as well I still listen to it and digg all the jazz too but it wold bee great if I could tune in during the day and hear the good stuff. Especially after my 40 hrs on Pandora runs out!

What happened there? It used to be the 'cool' station to tune into when in Fresno (lived in Madera) when I was in high school. Yes, I'm going wayyyy back like 20 years. Nothing wrong with jazz, but certainly doesn't seem to fit the demographic of most college students.
I think that many Fresno State students don't know that KFSR exists because KFSR 90.7 is primarily a jazz station (these days) and a majority of the programs are geared toward the 30 and up crowd.
At the age of 27, I enjoy the station's programming, but I can definitely understand if a large majority of people my age and younger don't tune in and hear the events calendar on a regular basis.
90.7 fm is a far cry from what it used to be when I first moved to Fresno. There was a lot more popular programming for younger audiences.
