Hi, I am Pete Grant of The Stepsons blues band. We are playing our first Fresno gigs soon, at Full Circle Brewery on Saturday May 9th at 8:00pm ($6 cover) and at Crossroads the following night at 7pm.
We have been together about a year now, based in Porterville, but we have a wealth of playing experience. I hail from London, England and during a long career both as a guitarist and later in music management I have been involved with Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green, Cream lyricist Pete Brown and for four years I managed UK sax legend Dick Heckstall-Smith. Since living here, I have returned to my main love, playing the blues live! Here is a youtube vid of me performing with my first Central Valley group, The Bobcat Blues Band.
That band also featured Stepsons bassist Bob 'Bobobasso' Bartlett, a mainstay of the Central Valley blues scene for a long time. Ben Cline, our other guitar player will be familiar to those who follow the Fresno music scene. Drummer Ted Penic brings a jazzy touch to our electric blues with a twist of classic rock and a jam band heart. We are hoping these two gigs are the first of many in Fresno, and we are freally looking forward to the shows. In the meantime, if you would like to hear some recent stepsons live material, check out our page at www.myspace.com/stepsonsblues
