This week, (Thursday June 19) be there as Fresno’s own Art, Music, and Poetry event, The INNER EAR Poetry Jam starts on its sixth year being the NO’s longest continual open mic in Town.
This month, along with featuring local guest poet James Tiner, the Ear welcomes the one night return of The BEAT DOWN SLAM at the INNER EAR in its first hour! That’s right folks, it’s back and it’s for ONE SHOW ONLY! 10 poets, 2 rounds, 5 judges, 30 points, plus CASH PRIZES! YOU KNOW YOU CAN’T MISS THIS!
Top three (3) finalists will advance to the Summer Arts Invitational Slam July 3rd at 7pm held at Fresno State Campus hosted by nationally known poet Kimberly Dark and featuring at half time, slam poet Jack McCarthy where the first place winner will receive $300 in cold hard CASH (…That’s bling, fool!) in two rounds of nonstop action. Who will be the last person standing? Come on out and root for your favorite poets at the Ear this Thursday and then see if one lucky wordsmith can win it all at FSU in July.
