[a cheesy post perhaps, but illustrates the severe need the local music/art scene has for such gathering places---Tommy & Toshi, you are respected and admired by a great many people.]
Some days are tougher than others.
Yesterday, it was my trip to the dentist that was filled with the most laughs. Talk about an upside-down day!
In spite of (because of) the toll the day had taken, I felt compelled to climb back into my car (the one with the busted a/c and NOW the smell of a rotting mouse stinking it up--told you: bad day!]and travel to Tokyo Garden. It was Arthop night. I missed most of the events as I was tied up first at Back to School Night and then in a severely unfortunate meeting at my church --See? the dentist was a dream compared to this stuff.
Tokyo's traditional Post-Art Hop gathering
was just what I needed. I had great laughs with a few folks that I knew and saw people I hadn't seen in a long-while. I even had a great conversation with the ever-wonderful Toshi. Yes. Good company, local music, and a tall Soparo at Tokyo Garden---just what the doctor ordered.
