Tower Dogs has finally opened!

As some of you may know, a couple of days ago a new eatery opened up on the Main Street of the Tower District. It’s called Tower Dogs and it’s located right next to the Tower Theatre on Olive Avenue! The wait is finally over :-)

Ok...

Sounds good Mr/Ms. Guest, but...

We read the advertisment the first time.

At first I thought it was just an honest opinion, but now it's suspect.

Its all about Booney's

Booney's has it all over Famous. Their dogs are hot, taste better and are made with love! On the NE corner of Shaw and West. If you haven't tried them yet, your missing out on something special!

Disappointed

Just came back from Tower Dogs for the first time and was a little let down. I got the Mexidog, I was expecting some really savory flavor since it had one of my favorite things in the world chorizo. Well could not taste it at all to much Nacho cheese it mask the taste also the hot dog was some where in between lukewarm to cold. My Bosses Dogs look like crap he only eat half of one and pick at the other. Same problems as mine lukewarm to cold and why where the buns so soggy. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

Yeah, they aren't that great...

I don't think we're that picky, but a few friends and I have tried their hot dogs and only one of us thought it was pretty good (he had the Caliente Dog).

I thought Steve's Chili Dog was just ok (not good enough for the price or for a place that specializes in hot dogs) and another friend had the Chicago Style and he wasn't impressed.

We all weren't fond of the prices, at least not for what was served. It should taste way better and you should get more dog than bun, in my opinion. Right now, it's the other way around.

But, I still hope the shops stays... just with some improvements.

Have you tried Booney's, It's off of West and Shaw right by the Roundtable and 7 Eleven. They been around for like a year and a half my be. Not only do they have regular and 1/4 pound dogs they also have a monster 1/2 pound dog.

Tower Dogs

I think having Tower dogs in the area is an amazing idea! The service is awesome, quick and friendly! Generic tasting, Stadium food?! That is crazy talk. The menu is great! It has been open for a week and it's already successful :)

Ya I was a little disappointed that the dogs weren't the 1/4 pound ones.

Sequioa Brewery uses a Qtr pound dog.
I have to agree with the generic stadium dog too mentioned above. But I also understand you don't want a steep over-head when you are just opening up.

BUT: Don't start serving 1/4 dogs and charging more. You're a hot dog joint, just use 1/4 lbs dogs when you get better established and ditch those puny weenies!!

P.S. I live in the Tower, still glad to have ya.

hmm

really? you thought the dogs were generic? i thought they were actually pretty nice quality, thicker skinned dogs. i mean, if you compare the dogs here with other dog places in fresno these are some of the best. and, the polish sausages are good. the habenero sausage on the hot! hot! hot! was way flavorful, and spicy as hell (for me).

Tower Dogs

Great idea for Tower, but the actual dogs were generic tasting and the buns were awful, reminded me of stadium food at high prices.
