Here's what I did (because you asked, jerk):
* Partied till I puked (not really) at Lucky 13. This review says it's the area's only Hollywood-style bar. I don't know if I'd go that far, but the place has a certain j'ne sais pas that I like.
When we arrived they were playing "Big Trouble in Little China," on the bigscreen. After that was "Escape from New York" (must have been a John Carpenter/Kurt Russell night), follwed by "Blazing Saddles."
Plus, they had Arrogant Bastard Ale on tap. My kind of place.
The Giddy-Ups were great, although it wasn't actually the Giddy-Ups, but some hybrid of the Giddy-Ups and the Widdly-Wahs. Hightlight of the set: The crowd was all about "She Squirts." I like their take on Tom Petty's "Yer So Bad."
I forget sometimes how bad-ass live punk rock can be. The Secretions made me remember. They played loud and hard and fast. And then they got really fast. Then they slowed it down again. Then they played "Ace of Spades."
* Did some podcasting with Ray Arthur. He of the Fresno Film and Entertainment Commission. He was promoting the Fresno Filmmakers Forum.
It's not posted yet. Check for it in the next couple of days, here.
* Saw you (and you know who you are) running the Cross City Race in front of my apartment. Aside from really messing up my morning traffic (you couldn't get out of downtown), it looked like a lot of fun and I'm really sad I missed/didn't promote it.
Now: There was a crapload of other stufd happening this weekend, so where should I have been?
2 year old review
I think that Lucky 13 place has changed owners since that linked review was posted 2 years ago. I think Lucinda owns it now.
It used to be Beer Hunter and before that it was a Ewell's.
