What if all the channels on TV went out, but your favorite channel....which channel would you want it to be? (you can pick a back up channel)
This is a very hard choice, immediately I want FOOD, ESPN and History and Discovery. Even though Discovery is a shell of what it used to be, and TLC too for that matter. I used to love watching surgeries....
After much inner turmoil and debate, I'd have to go with the FOOD channel, at least it's something I could pull some knowledge from day to day, and apply on a daily basis as well for the enrichment of my life. My backup would probably be History cause there is a lot of cool stuff about science and space on there a lot more than the other channels.
Anyhow, the xxx channels don't count cause those are premium pay per view :P
My one channel would be....
The History Channel. I love history and learning about great people who have contributed to mans comfortable life. I love learning about the overthrowing of governments and how man has developed in these past ages so rapidly. Other than that, I would just read. Imagination is becoming a lost talent. Imagination creates leaders. In Fresno, we have the Tower district and some great local bands. I wish we could completely eliminate the gangs though. Let these poor souls learn that expression is an art and there are ways of letting people know you are proud of Fresno other than being mean to your fellow Fresnans.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
Groucho Marx
First thought was food, too ...
Hard question - good, but difficult lol. I'm going to go with PBS because it's well rounded, not centered in one area. I can watch FoodNetwork, Bravo, Discovery for hours, but the only channel left? No.
For movie, Elf - I can start watching it at any point and be laughing in a few minutes hhaaa
PBS baby!
I do love my PBS.
Nova..Independent Lens and P.O.V. being my favorite programs.
If there was an all Anthony Bourdain -No Reservations- channel...I'd watch that just to drool.
Over Anthony...not the food.
What if you could watch only one movie?
For me, it'd be a tough toss-up between The Big Lebowski and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (original-not the horrifying new one).
c-span has the only truly
c-span has the only truly fair and balanced news on washington journal every morning 4am-7am pacific. interviews every weekend on booknotes with the greatest authors from a grand canyon wide variety of views. no commercials. saw a live 3 hour interview a couple weeks ago with alice walker (the color purple) from her home in berkeley that was fascinating. from amy goodman and noam chomsky to matt drudge and michael savidge and everyone else in between it's the only politically neutral public affairs programming on tv.
Food...
Not necessarily in this order, but Food Network, Science Channel (not sci-fi), History, Discovery. All of them are pretty equal in my book, so I couldn't choose just one.
All good choices! My
All good choices! My favorite would be A&E, then History,Discovery,Biography channel, and last but not least Cartoon network.
