Pride!

June is Gay and Lesbian pride month in honor of the night of June 27th, 1969, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in NYC's Greenwich Village. On that night, the community fought back forcibly against the police. Since then, marches have been organized around the country the last weekend in June to commemorate the rebellion.
This year's festivities had their own share of police troubles. Just a week before the event, pride organizers Community Link were told the permit they had secured was invalid and the party area would be reduced. They were also told they must supply the names of all the vendors expected to be at the event- a clear violation of privacy rights.
Police changed their tune yesterday, when Jeff Robinson, the head of Community Link, arrived for a meeting with Fresno Police Department's Lt. Dave Belluomini and Sgt. Sharon Schaefer with news cameras in toe.
After the closed door meeting, the two parties announced the trouble stemmed from "miscommunications" and that all systems were go.
The Grand Marshals of the parade are, Robin McGehee, Larry Norton, drag queen Clarisse Sidney, Mayor of West Hollywood, Jeffrey Prang & his Fresnan domestic partner, Raymundo Vizcarra, Clyde Hedstrom, and LGBT Clovis High Students. There will be a karaoke contest with a grand prize of $100, dancers, queens Tawny Towers, Tye Medown, and Diva X.
The parade starts at 9 a.m. at Olive and Palm and continues down Olive to Wishon, in front of the Tower Theater.
After the parade is over, the party party begins. Organizers have promised delux entertainment: drag queens and kings, singers, and dancers. There will be a bounce house for the kids and a beer garden for the adults.

I just saw the posting titled "Gay Jesus" and had to take a look. How could I look away from this train wreck? The beauty of it is that this unverified poster is replying to a post Jarah did about Gay Pride back in June. So, he or she is doing a search on the word "gay" most likely. Doin' the lord's work?
Christians rule! Of course, I think Jews, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists rule as well.
I also think gays, lesbians and the occasional hetero rule as well.

Remember Jesus loves you....you don't go to hell for what you do or don't do....you wind up in hell because you don't have him in your heart. His plan is for you not to end in hell. For the wages of sin (and we all sin) is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
