Rogue Festival 2005: Some of it has to be good

The 2005 Rogue Performance Festival kicks off today! Days and days of independent music, art, theatre, dance, and film, some of it quite good; some of it absolutely not good. That's the beauty of a non-juried Fringe Festival. To help the cream rise to the top, we encourage you to post your opinions on our Rogue Review blog. Everyday we'll post the scheduled Rogue events and then you comment, ok?

This week in Famous we interview the mastermind behind the Rogue Festival, Marcel Nunis. Also this week we give you our top picks for this year's festival; it's all a guess so take it or leave it. But do go out and see at least one show- nothing is more than $6 so you have no excuse. Maybe you're skeptical because you don't know that the New York effing Times suggested you go! In fact, the good ol NYT recommends you travel from New York, Tampa, St. Louis, and Detroit to Fresno for the Festival. You can make the trek from Champlain and Perrin.

Also this week, we've got a dapper edition to Famous People. This is our 49th issue, and since we're a weekly, that means we've been at this for almost a year! Stay tuned for news on the Fresno Famous 1-Year Anniversary Party to be sloppily organized at the absolute last minute. In the meantime, please check out our extensive archives. Or browse by category such as Music, Art, Film, Features, Food and Drink, and Literature. Don't know what you've got till it's gone.
