Mardi Gras before Chinese New Year
Am I the first to notice that this years Tower Mardi Gras Parade happening before Chinatowns New Year Parade. For years it's been the other way around with usually a week or more between the two.
mark your calendars for Sunday, February 18, 2007 for the Tower District Grand Mardi Gras Parade at 1 pm
and Saturday, February 24, 2007 for the 2007 Chinese New Year Parade Year of the Golden Boar, in Fresno's Chinatown (the Heart of Chinatown is on F st. between Tulare and Kern) at 12 Noon.
Both Events are Excellent Fresno Parades don't miss the Local Lion Dancers at the New Years Parade then see them perform "choy chang" to exorcise evil spirits and to summon luck and fortune to most all of the shops in Chinatown later in the day. It's a Tradition to behold.

Kern & F st is the main area for the event, but the parade starts near the Fire Station 3, and goes around the block south on F west on kern then North on E
be there by 12 noon, parking should really not be that bad, yes you will have to park and walk a block or two, but if you get there 30 min early you can park up close.

I found this information: It will be Saturday February 9th at 12 noon.

I'm going to guess it will be some Saturday the 9th, 16th, or the 23rd of this month.
I missed last years the first one I missed since 2000.

you could say that the Tower District has their shit together more than the Downtown Association and both seem to do better in promoting than poor Chinatown Revitalization Inc.
