Meatball Magic, at The Red Lantern (first and third fridays.) It doesn't matter how many people show up, it's always fun. Heavy handed drinks, cool people, and loud music you can't shake your ass to anywhere else, who could ask for more?
Im with Mchelle again.....actually im with mchelle most of the time, especially at Freds. And yes, we are regulars and yes we are drunks and yes we like beer. and bloody marys and Wass and Joel and Kate and Audie and Freds.
The beers are the best in town, in my humble opinion. Brewer Kevin Cox rocks. He has been there since the beginnings in 1989 when it was Butterfields. Being a hop head, I favor the IPA, though it is strong (7%+). But during these cooler days of winter, the Irish Stout is lovely (only 4.5%), especially with St. Patrick's Day coming up.
The only complaint is the astronomical rise in prices. I mean really, $4.75 a pint?!!! Obviously it isn't due to gas prices and transportation because they brew on site. Rumor among regulars is that the owner is using the steady Tower District crowd to pay for the failing northern pub. We all hope and pray and drink that this mainstay of the Tower won't go broke in order to pay for another northern exposure misadventure.
Just the thought makes we want to venture down Linden to Olive and order a pint of divine loveliness.
I'd have to say Livingstones -- I always seem to end up there. Even if your evening has other plans, you generally end up at Stones for one reason or another.
Duh.

Listen to some customer get chewed-out by Jerry. See the same old boys in the booth. Always a few familiar faces and always the same old Fresno food.

Nothing beats happy hour in a dark dive bar with regulars - unless you aren't one. And the new appearance adds wonders to the comfortable atmosphere.
