Fresno State, or more accurately the nonprofit agency it runs its multi-million dollar deals through, is running into troubles with its Campus Pointe project. The "e" is because it's French! Duh.
The City of Fresno has joined with the Sierra Vista Mall in suing the college on the development, which they say will negatively impact traffic and movie theater attendance, respectively. What do you think would happen if Fresno State spent more on academics? Oh right, there wouldn't be anyone left to work at the movie theater.
Campus Pointe....really
The City of Fresno is not suing Fresno State over a fear of competition from the business at Campus Pointe. It's a matter of traffic circulation, which can be a major problem around State especially during major events, say at the Save Mart Center. Lawsuits such as these aren't necessarily meant to prevent development, per se, only to make sure that it is done right, really in light of the best interests of the citizens of Fresno. Because who wants even more traffic congestion in that area?
(OotV)--> Ballet idea sounds psychadelic but cool.
French..
..I thought campus pointe was going to be a whole new wing devoted to ballet...
...you mean, there aren't going to be a steady parade of six foot tall long haired lithe ballerina's crossing shaw..?
*sniff*
..this town only knows how to break hearts...
OH NO, NOT COMPETITION!!!
These lawsuits seem to be anti-progressive and anti-competitive to me.
More choices for us consumers and more jobs being created will only result in a net benefit to this community.
