We're glad somebody finally posted this to Flickr; it's been making us laugh for weeks.
What's even more strange is this sale has been going on longer than it took to add a third window to the McDonald's drive thru across the street. What's the third window for? Ketchup?
been wondering...
Though I live right down the street from the sign, I never noticed it until this past weekend, when I was coming home from something-or-other, and there were two squad cars with officers out, talking about whatever... and they were parked right next to the sign...
(I couldn't help it, I just had to look in the back seat and see if there was somebody dressed up as a viking or zorro...)
Then I saw it was also a restaurant (I think,) as well... and I'm thinking to myself, (while humming Jethro Tull tunes),
'...self..?
-well...
-they do stuff like 'medieval times,' back east, and folks do have a thing about playing 'dress-up,' and doing RenFaires and such... It is Shakespeare Season again... maybe somebody got a bit carried away and started swatting up the salad bar,,, baskets of tortilla chips flying all over the place...' (it's them darn tights that they wear,,, those things get to riding up, and they can make a person pretty testy, ---and don't get me started on corsets...)
...then I'm thinking, if some poor schlub really went amok, and he's standing there, you know all wild eyed, with a sword, standing up on a table, babbling away...
-what do the cops do???
I mean, you walk in all quietlike, weapon drawn, and it's some guy with a pirates of the carribean thing going on??? (beads in his scraggly beard and stuff...)
-Officer 1: '...easy fella, just stay calm,,, you know, you could put an eye out with that thing...'
-Officer 2: '...yeah, that's right, just put down the sword and we'll give you a nice three musketeers bar...'
-Officer 1: '...not funny,,, Officer 2..' (trying to keep a straight face...)
I know!
Isn't it legal to carry a sword around as long as it's visible?
In Seattle there is a legend of this guy who walked around town and into bars carrying a huge sword. Never saw him myself.
