Title of Prom Queen goes where it belongs

...To a transgendered male. Sometimes kids in Fresno do some really cool things.

Congratulations to Johnny 'Crystal' Vera for winning the title of Prom Queen. Take it from this Junior Class Homecoming Princess, being part of prom royalty will change your life. You'll be prettier, taller, and skinner! And you will hold on to that $3 tiara until every last plastic crystal falls off. And by you I mean me.

What a strange town we live in where transgendered kids can run, and win, for prom court, while the adults throw pro heterosexual marriage rallies at city hall. Is there hope for the next generation of Fresnans?

I was glad to hear Vera won. I don't know her but have said hi to her a few times while walking on Huntington Blvd. She seems to have a good attitude on life and who she is.
